Amazingly I have managed to track down an internet cafe in the middle of the Amazon rain forest just so I can make sure that I can keep you all up to date on what is happening in the waters around Dorset. Of course it would be meen of me not to tell you a little about what I am doing right now as well.

I have just had a good nights sleep after traveling for 30 straight hours from British Columbia to the middle of the rain forest in Amazonian Brazil. It is hot and sticky here and as we have a break from filming today, I am going to head down to the river and see what monsters I can catch in the murky depths. I had the most amazing fishing in Canada. When I get back I will put up a full report and lots of pictures. The good thing about having lots of time on flights is I have been able to do some work on the new website.

It seems like you lucky anglers are going to be in for a bit of a bettering in the next couple of days. It looks like Chesil will be out of the picture until it calms down and when it does, you want to make sure you are on it for I am sure it is going to be great for the Cod and Whiting.

Water Temperature: 11.8*c             Weymouth High Tide: 11.48pm, 1.57m

Wind: SW 32mph Gusting 40mpg

Sea Conditions:

Chesil Beach: Currently unfishable with waves of over 4m

Portland:Very rough on the West side of the island and a large swell on the East.

Portland Harbour: Choppy  and mainly clear water except at Ferrybridge.

Weymouth Bay: Calm with clear water.

Chesil Beach forecast: Unfishable until the swell drops then it should be a Cod fest with a lot of fish looking to hoover up the food that has been distrurbed. Big baits especailly Peelerc rab and Lugworm will work best.

Portland: Church Ope Cove is about one of the few places you will be able to fish today and that is only if there is not too much weed in the bay.

Portland Harbour: With the tides being quite small the harbour does not tend to produce too many fish. TRy Sandsfoot Castle area to get out of the wind and maybe catch a Bass or Flounder.

Weymouth Bay: The Pier is a safe bet with plenty of species still around and the squid fishing being pretty good at the moment. Preston Beach will be a good spot especialy on the evening tides for Whiting and the odd Ray.

Boat & Kayak fishing: The charter fleet will all be at home today but the weather looks good for the weekend so it would be well worth a trip on a charter boat or bring your own small boat dawn and try fishinf the Shambles for the Plaice that are still around.

Guiding: That’s it for now until after I come back from filming.  My next available date is from the 29th of November. I am taking bookings for both Bass and bait guiding sessions for December. If last year was anything to go by then the Bass  fishing should still be good up until early January. These can be tailored to your requirements including mixed days of bait and lure fishing.
