Happy New Year to everyone, and welcome to the new look Fishing Tails website. 2014 was a good year for us, but with so much new stuff for the new look site, we know 2015 is going to be brilliant. I hope you like the changes that we have made. We have tried to make it cleaner and easier to navigate. We have also added a video page, as this is one area that we will be concentrating a lot on during the next year.

More tips and more marks are all on the cards, with plenty of articles already written and just waiting to be released. Lets not wait, here is a video tip that seems pretty relevant to those of you that may have had a new rod for Christmas. I have seen quite a few people put up posts on a number of Facebook groups and forums about their new rods not fitting together. Some of the recommendations have been idiotic, as you will see from the video.

Here is another tip for you, make sure you subscribe to the website. It is completely free, only takes a few seconds and we will never sell your information to anyone. What you will get is a notification every time a new report or article is posted. We will also be having some exclusive specials, that are only open to subscribers. These will include get togethers, photo competitions and boat trips. It is my intention to do a traveling workshop this year, where I will be visiting different venues along the coast, to teach anglers everything from the basics to advanced techniques. So if you don’t want to miss one that might be near you then sign up.

Another area we will be focusing on this year is video reviews on loads of tackle. Just to give you a feel of some of the items on review have a quick look at this short video we have created, for some of the new Fladen products. We will be featuring in depth reviews from lots of other suppliers.

It would be a bit rude not to do a quick review of 2014. I have to say that 2014 was a great year for fishing for me. and I hope it was for all of you as well.

I was worried after the huge storms back in February, that they  would have had a big effect on Chesil for the future. Well one thing is certain, it didn’t have a negative effect. It was my best year for a number of species this year. Notably Trigger Fish, and of course Coding. I managed an amazing 298 Codling since September, but it wasn’t just the beach that fished well last year. I had a great year fishing from the boat, and I really enjoyed getting back into boat competition fishing.
